The vicinity of Semarang’s Blenduk Church illustrates the city’s remarkable historical heritage. Rows of old structures from centuries ago are witnesses of this city’s gleaming past as a busy port town. Built in colonial architecture, this church is eye catching because of its dome and hexagonal shape. A lot of Semarang’s grand buildings - once abandoned- are now refurbished and used as offices or restaurants. This cluster of timeless landmarks in Semarang’s old city helps to make the cities name for itself, as a place that represents Indonesia’s colonial heritage at its best.
