The Economics Involved in the Suez Canal Blockade

Ships are stuck in the Suez!

One boat has acted as a pain in the entire global supply chain at large. Early Tuesday, after the ship Ever Given, ran aground onto the banks of the Suez Canal, over 200 shipping vessels on both sides were immobilised and continue to stay immobile as we speak.

Although rescue and dislodging efforts are underway, with every day added to the logjam, billions worth business is affected around the globe. Access to goods is impaired and high inflation is a potentially likely outcome.
